The 2026 civil aviation summer-autumn season is set to begin on March 29. Among the notable updates, China Eastern Airlines' Jiangsu branch is launching a direct flight from Wuxi to Mangshi, Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture in Southwest China's Yunnan province.

This daily service is priced at 693 yuan ($100.8), with flights departing at 07:35 am and arriving at 10:55 am, for a total flying time of 3 hours and 20 minutes.

Mangshi offers a warm climate with daily temperatures averaging above 20 C. The city is adorned with palm trees and fruit-tree-laden streets. Notable attractions include the shimmering Menghuan Golden Pagoda and Menghuan Silver Pagoda, as well as the pristine forests of Gaoligong, where people can listen to the birdsong and the calls of primates.

From April 13 to 14, Mangshi will host the Dai ethnic group's traditional Water Splashing Festival. During this vibrant celebration, both locals and tourists take to the streets armed with water guns and basins, joyfully splashing water on each other as a symbol of good fortune and happiness.

In addition to the new Mangshi route, Wuxi's Shuofang Airport continues to enhance its flight offerings. China Eastern Airlines has revamped its Wuxi routes, increasing the frequency of flights to Xiamen to three times a day, while maintaining daily flights to Seoul and Macao. Moreover, the Kuala Lumpur route will make its inaugural flight on March 19.

Shenzhen Airlines is also expanding its services with new routes connecting Wuxi to Lanzhou and Taiyuan, further enhancing travel options for passengers.
