WND is located in the southeastern part of East China's Jiangsu province, between Shanghai and Nanjing. It lies within the Yangtze River Delta, China's economically most developed and vibrant area. The district enjoys convenient transportation due to a high speed rail station and an airport, which make the business trips within easy reach, while cutting the logistics costs and transportation time for all enterprises.
In addition to beautiful ecological environment, WND provides its residents with favorable living environment, including well-equipped apartments, entertainment venues and tourism resources. There are large numbers of schools in WND, including an international school, which could meet the education needs of foreign investors and employees' children. It was the long-standing Wu Culture that shaped the industrious, pragmatic and flexible traits of the local people, who triggered the development of the Chinese industry and commerce, making WND the innovation center in Eastern China.
Wuxi New District takes equipment manufacturing as its pillar industry, followed by four emerging industries---micro-electronics, IoT, new materials and bio-pharmaceuticals, and three characteristic industries, namely airport logistics, software & service outsourcing and cultural industry, all of which substantially contribute to Wuxi's economic development.
Acclaimed as the only advanced development park in Jiangsu province at the 20th anniversary of the National Torch Plan and also being Jiangsu's first innovation and entrepreneurship base for overseas high-skilled talent, the new district encompasses the national IOT innovation demonstration zone, a national innovation park, a national eco-industrial demonstration park, and a national intellectual property pilot park.
WND uses manufacturing as its core and has shaped an industrial cluster with an annual output value of 100 billion yuan around high-end equipment manufacturing. It has also been striving to develop six emerging industries --- micro-electronics, new energy & new-energy automobiles, bio-pharmaceuticals, Internet of Things, new materials & new display and energy conservation and environment protection industry.
The Wuxi New District has a pyramid-shaped talent pool, which contains human resources with various skills at different levels. In recent years, more and more global enterprises such as Bosch, Siemens and GE set up their subsidiaries in WND, with advanced training systems and favorable salary and welfare benefits, attracting large numbers of high-skilled talent around the country.
